Like any other Spanish town, Adeje has a yearly calendar of holidays and festivals. These activities are some of the main attractions of the town, drawing hundreds, even thousands, of visitors.
Like the other towns of Tenerife, Adeje 's chief holiday is the Carnaval, which happens every year in February. This is a full week of nothing but partying, merrymaking, food, friends, and fun from sun up to sun down.
After the happy bustle of the Carnaval, the Lenten season commences with its typical solemnity and piety. The height of the Lenten season is the Holy Week, which culminates in Good Friday. During this time, the residents of the town observe solemn processions, masses, and novenas.
