The first part translated as St. John in Spanish it is a municipality in the northern part of Tenerife located about 50 km SSW of the island's capital, N of Los Cristianos and Las Américas of Arona and about 75 km N of the international airport.
The population as of 2003 stands at 5,027 with its population density at 243.32/km² and area at 20.66 km². The elevation stands at 501 m.
San Juan de La Rambla is linked northeast off the superhighway and is connected to a highway linking Icod de los Vinos and the capital.
Farmlands are in the valley areas and within the Atlantic while the mountain and the hills are to the south. Its main economy consisted of agriculture and tourism.
