Buenavista, translated in Spanish as "good view" and "norte," the north (of the island) is a municipality in the western part of Tenerife. The population stands at 5,453 per 2005 survey. Rural residents form majority of the population.
It has a density of 80.88/km² and the area is 67.42 km². The town’s elevation levels at 925 m. It is the westernmost municipality in the island of Tenerife, located about 60 km SW of the island's capital, NW of Los Cristianos and Las Américas of Arona and about 50 km NW of the Reine Sofia airport.
Santiago del Teide is linked north of the superhighway. Buenavista del Norte’s farmlands are situated in the valley areas and within the Atlantic Ocean. The hills are around the area and the mountains to the south and southeast.
The town’s economy consisted of various businesses, tourism and agriculture until the 1990s when agriculture became the dominant industry.
