La Orotava is a municipality on the island of Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands off the northern coast of Africa. The overall area of La Orotava extends from the northern coast of Tenerife inward, covering an area of about 207.31 square kilometers, making it the largest municipality in Tenerife. The town is located within the Orotava Valley, and within the boundaries lies Mt. Teide, a volcano and the highest point in the Canary Islands.
